The digital ATA Carnet

The eATA Carnet is the digital version of the traditional ATA Carnet, supporting the global digitalisation of temporary admission procedures.

Through the ICC ATA Carnet App, holders and their representatives can carry the digital Carnet, prepare declarations and present a QR code to Customs for processing.

Global implementation timeline according to ICC

• From 1 June 2026: 30 countries / customs territories, including the European Union, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, are ready to accept digital ATA Carnets.
• By 1 January 2028: ATA Carnet procedures are expected to become fully digital worldwide.
